This shoulder bag is hand embroidered in a tradition of tribal art from West Bengal, India. The animals and symbols refer to the immediate environment of communities that have lived for many generations in the far east of India, near the border with Bangladesh.
The leather part of the bag is recycled leather. The silk on which is embroidered is from remnants from the textile industry.
The bag is embroidered by women who receive a fair amount from a non-profit organization that is committed to the education of girls and the financial independence of women.
The bag has a magnetic closure, is lined with cotton and has a zipper and handy pocket on the inside.
